 I hope you enjoy my stories, recipes, and pictures.

In the begining...

 I have always loved to cook. My best memories are learning from my grandmother’s. Standing on chairs to help run the mixer and scrape down the bowls. Adding the flour and cracking eggs.

My first attempt at baking a cake was a thank you cake to a friend of my grandmother’s, she had given me a pair of blue ice skates. So, I decided to bake her an ice skate cake. Amazingly I did it.

It was so fun using licorice and candies to decorate. The best part was mixing the icing to just the right blue. I can still see that cake in my head. I love to take ingredients and come up with recipes. I can never follow any recipe as is ...Doing it my way!

I live in a cabin surrounded by 75 acres of beautiful hardwoods.  Every window view from the cabin is a postcard. We have  Black bear, coyotes, fox, deer, Fisher cats, porcupines, snakes, poisonous and nonpoisonous, beautiful birds of all kinds including wild turkey and hawks, Eagles live nearby.

I have 3 large dogs, my husband calls them orphans. I got one of "my boys" first, then we inherited the other 2. The elderly man who had them passed away, so he left me the other two.

 I love to cook and experiment. I try to use healthy ingredients, organic and locally grown.

This past summer I was fortunate to have a very successful garden. It is so peaceful here, you can hear the bird's wings flutter when they fly by.You can hear the snowflakes  fall. I will show some pictures of what I see when I walk our Trails.
